Apart features stripped-down arrangements of songs from Stone’s previous records: 2011’s Allen Stone, 2015’s Radius and 2019’s Building The Balance. The album also includes a cover of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love,” and a duet arrangement of “Bed I Made” featuring R&B artist Alessia Cara. Apart was recorded at Washington’s Bear Creek Studios during the COVID-19 pandemic with Grammy-nominated producer Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Brandi Carlile, Vance Joy).
