This compilation brings together the best of Mario Lanza’s much-loved 1950-56 recordings of Christmas carols, together with other religious and devotional material from the same period, presenting them all in stereo for the first time. The technological breakthrough that has made this transformation possible is Digitally Extracted Stereo (DES), a process that converts mono recordings into multi-track stereo while preserving the full integrity of the original vocals and instrumentation.
inside booklet reads: These recordings were sourced from (UK) public domain vinyl pressings from the collection of Vincent Di Placido, with the exception of “The Lord’s Prayer” which originates from a 1951 acetate from the collection of Clyde Smith that was digitally transferred by William J. Ronayne, Jr.
All tracks remastered by Stephen Cutler, who also processed them into Digitally Extracted Stereo (DES), and Robin Cherry.
From rear cover: All of the above are appearing here for the first time in Digitally Extracted Stereo (DES). With the exception of #18 and #22-#24 (newly remixed here), all tracks were originally recorded in mono.
